Our History

Starting in the fall of 2022, three students (Simon Dickerson, Richard Souchick, and Arjun Vasudevan) pondered the idea of building a fully functional solar car.  After learning about the Texas Solar Car Challenge, they put together a detailed plan and presentation to their advisor (Dr. John Cordell).

From here, parts were ordered and mistakes were made, but through the frigid winter cold and blazing summer heat, the team (now consisting of over a dozen members) finally passed the arduous scrutineering process at precisely the cutoff time.

Looking ahead, the team (now lead by Richard Souchick and Arjun Vasudevan), hopes to continue their success by building a much lighter and faster car for the 2024 Texas Solar Car Challenge.
